MFG Tray Heads to Interpack in Düsseldorf, Germany this May!

Posted on May 4, 2023

It’s stacking up to be a busy spring for MFG Tray, and we couldn’t be happier about all the conventions we’ve attended. From manufacturing and food service to pharmaceuticals and biotechnology, we’ve had the good fortune to connect with people across nearly every industry and from all over the world. Now, we’re fastening our seatbelts for takeoff and headed to Düsseldorf, Germany, for the Interpack 2023 Conference!

What is Interpack 2023?

MFG Tray Heads to InterpackInterpack is a global packaging industry conference focusing on the entire value chain. Whether the discussion is about packaging materials or material-handling processes, innovation is always at the center of the conversation.

The conference occurs every three years in Düsseldorf, Germany, bringing in the industry’s biggest companies, such as DHL, Siemens, and Schutz. This year, Interpack takes place May 4th-May 10th, 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Whether you’re in the food, beverage, confectionery, bakery, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, non-food and industrial goods sectors, you’ll gain essential insights and make invaluable connections at Interpack.

From this conference, the Spotlight Talks & Trends are honing in on four main topics:

  • Circular Economy
  • Resource Conservation
  • Digital Technologies
  • Product Safety

MFG Tray, a leading supplier of starch trays, holding trays, gum trays, and stock boxes for the confectionery industry, will be exhibiting its stackable, durable, light weight starch trays that speed up machine processing and minimize downtime.

Before the introduction of the company’s composite starch trays, the only products available were wood trays, which has been the standard for many years. However, this product certainly has its problems. The sole reason for the development of the MFG Tray composite starch tray was that the company knew it had the experience and knowledge to provide a tray that would generate a more efficient process for confectionery operations.

All the materials we use to construct our products are listed in NSF Standard No. 2 and the USFDA Code of Federal Regulations, Title 21. MFG Tray confectionery trays have been independently tested and certified per EEC Directives. Please visit us at Stand #1A44 at Interpack.

But we still want to connect with those of you who can’t make it this year. To help you get an idea of why people love our confectionery trays so much, we outlined ten essential differentiators below. When you’re ready to learn more, please reach out to us.

  1. Compatibility
MFG Tray starch trays are compatible with NID, Makat, Winkler & Dunnebier, and other mogul brands. They feature uniform sizing and dimensional stability to accommodate increased production speeds for optimal throughput and efficiency. They are interchangeable with wood trays and may be integrated into production lines using both materials. Unlike wood trays, MFG Tray starch trays will not break in the event of a machine jam, eliminating the possibility of wood splinters in the end product. Several confectionery operations using MFG Tray starch trays have noted an increase in production efficiency as composite trays can be run at higher line speed.
  2. Stackability
Due to their dimensional stability and uniform sizing, our trays are better for stacking than wood or other alternatives. With our products, you’ll never have to worry about bending or sagging, even when carrying heavy loads. For goods that demand drying time, MFG Tray has a myriad trays that also offer ample ventilation and uniform temperature distribution.
  3. Dimensional Stability
Our light weight starch trays maintain their original shape and structural integrity even when material handling processes occur in harsh environmental conditions. Whether it’s hot, cold, humid, or arid, MFG Tray’s composite material can consistently handle heavy loads and can be integrated into machine applications without becoming misshapen. Additionally, the dimensional stability of MFG Tray’s products accommodates increased production speeds for optimal throughput and efficiency, ensuring you a better return on investment (ROI).
  4. Temperature Resistant
MFG Trays’ glass-reinforced composite trays provide exceptional temperature resistance. In fact, our composite material is rugged enough to handle continuous temperatures ranging from -60° to 250° F (-51° to 121° C) and intermittent temperatures up to 300° F.
  5. User-Friendly and Light weight
MFG Tray optimized the design of our starch trays to be ergonomic and easily integrated into your moguls. To boost productivity, we made our NEW Light Weight Starch trays 20% lighter than standard fiberglass products while maintaining the same strength and durability. We’ve also created contoured corners to eliminate trapped moisture and starch residue.
  6. Strength
MFG Tray has been a long-lasting supplier of starch trays, holding trays, gum trays and stock boxes for the confectionery industry for more than 50 years. These trays offer a number of exclusive design, cost and performance benefits for confectionery operations that cannot be duplicated by other materials or manufacturers. The inherent strength and dimensional stability of MFG Tray composite trays make them exceptionally well-suited for confectionery production.
  7. Reliability
Equipment used in the confectionery industry often suffers an extensive amount of battering. But MFG Tray’s products are built to last MFG starch trays are guaranteed for 10 years, but most have seen over 25 plus years of service. Ultimately, this level of reliability yields a higher return on investment.
  8. Modifiability
All around the world, companies use our standard confectionery trays. However, there are cases in which a necessary modification is requested. When this situation occurs, you can rest assured MFG Tray is here to find a product that works for you. We have a variety of modification options, such as adding drain holes, slots, grommets, or grooves, to a specific piece of equipment.
  9. Customizability
If our designs don’t align with precisely what you need, MFG Tray will create a completely customized solution. Whether you’re manufacturing confections, pharmaceuticals, and cosmetics, or food and beverages, we’re here to ensure you have the best possible material handling products for your specific job.
  10. Affordability
MFG Tray’s new patent-pending, newly designed, lighter-weight starch tray will provide many of the benefits of the current trays. These benefits include dimensional stability, cleanability, and long life at a reduced cost. This will enable customers who have, in the past, thought that composites were too expensive to enjoy the benefits of composite trays at a competitive to wood.
