MEADVILLE FAMILY YMCA RELEASES PLANS TO OPEN LINESVILLE EARLY LEARNING ACADEMY IN EARLY 2021
New childcare center made possible by $10,000 total donation from Molded Fiber Glass Tray Company and the MFG Foundation
MEADVILLE, PENNSYLVANIA, OCTOBER 29, 2020 –The Meadville Family YMCA is excited to
announce the opening of a new Early Learning Academy to be located in the small town of Linesville. The project is expected to be completed by the end of the second quarter of 2021. This project is made possible by generous donations from MFG Tray Company of Linesville and The MFG Foundation of Ashtabula with checks totaling $10,000. Founded in 1952, MFG Tray has been a longstanding member of the Linesville community and has continued to foster growth in northwestern Pennsylvania for almost seven decades. “We are extremely excited to partner with MFG Tray and The MFG Foundation to provide quality early childhood education in Linesville,” said Meadville Family YMCA CEO Tina Carter. “Their $10,000 total donation shows a continued commitment and investment in the future of Linesville.” Because early childhood education is such an integral part of a child’s development, it is essential to provide programs for parents and families that are both affordable and easily accessible. According to a report from the Center for American Progress, roughly 57% of Pennsylvanians reside in an area with an insufficient supply of childcare centers. It was also determined that more than 61,000 parents statewide were forced to make a career sacrifice due to issues with childcare.
“The Molded Fiber Glass Companies have always believed in the principle of investing in our communities,” said John Thompson, MFG Senior Vice President. “MFG Tray Company and The MFG Foundation are delighted to provide this contribution to bring these early childhood education programs to the children and families in our community.”
The Meadville Family YMCA is Crawford County’s leader in early childhood education, enrolling over 90 children in multiple locations.
